Jadavpur University

Jadavpur University was established in 1955 and is one of the top universities in India today. It has 36 University Departments and 21 Interdisciplinary schools. Currently, there are 39 undergraduate and 57 postgraduate programmes covering various subjects in arts, science and engineering. Research opportunities have also led to innovations and inventions. There are hostel facilities and well stocked libraries of various disciplines for teachers, students and scholars. The H.L. Roy Auditorium and the Triguna Sen Auditorium, located on campus, and available for university events, are maintained by the Institute of Chemical Engineers and Alumni Association respectively. In addition, most departments have their own auditoria/seminar halls, which are available for use by other departments/schools as well.
